Senior Vice President, Trust Investment Officer
Mr. Root joined Westwood in 1993 and currently serves as a Senior Vice President. He is responsible for asset allocation and separate account management of client portfolios, as well as new business development and ongoing client service. He chairs the Westwood Trust Investment Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee.
Mr. Root began his career at Geophysical Exploration and subsequently joined Amerada Hess, before joining Fidelity Investments in 1986.
Mr. Root earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University and his degree in Geology from Washington & Lee University.

Senior Vice President
Mr. Ballew has over twenty-nine years of experience serving wealthy families through delivery of banking, investment management, and wealth advisory services. Prior to joining Westwood Trust, Mr. Ballew was Regional Managing Director of the Wealth Advisory Group for Northern Trust in Texas. He led the creation of this group and oversaw its successful integration into Northern Trust’s Personal Financial Services business. Prior to forming the Wealth Advisory Group, he served as President of the North Texas market for Northern Trust and on the company’s Texas Management Committee for over ten years.
Mr. Ballew is active in the community and serves in leadership roles on numerous non-profit boards, including the Dallas Symphony Association, the Dallas Symphony Foundation, The Senior Source, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, The Writer’s Garret, and the North Texas Regional Center for Innovation and Commercialization. He is also a member of the Preston Center Rotary Club.
Mr. Ballew earned his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and his BBA from Baylor University. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Investment Management Consultants Association.

Senior Vice President
Mr. Frazar joined Westwood in 2008 as a Senior Vice President working with our Private Wealth Management team. Prior to joining Westwood, Mr. Frazar was a commercial banker in Texas for forty-two years, including ten years with Northern Trust. Over the years, Mr. Frazar has been active on numerous boards for civil, private and charitable organizations in Abilene, Dallas & McKinney.
Mr. Frazar graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Finance.

Vice President, Trust & Investments
Mr. Montgomery joined Westwood in 2003 and currently serves as Vice President, Trust & Investments. His primary responsibility is new business development. Additionally, he meets with existing Westwood Trust clients, including foundations, charitable organizations, retirement plans, and high net worth families to inform them of Westwood’s current portfolio strategies and outlook as well as recent activity in their portfolios. Mr. Montgomery is also a member of the Trust Administrative Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee.
Mr. Montgomery began his investment career in 1999 with SWS Securities and then Ognisty Capital Management where he served as Vice President of Trading.
Mr. Montgomery earned his MBA from the University of Dallas and his BS in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas.

Assistant Vice President, Private Client Advocate
Mr. English joined Westwood in 2006 and currently serves as Assistant Vice President, Private Client Advocate.
Mr. English began his investment career in 1998 with Prudential Securities in Vienna, Virginia and was subsequently promoted to manage their high net worth consulting group with operations and portfolio reviews. Prior to joining Westwood, he worked with Morgan Stanley in Washington, DC, for five years and in 2003 was promoted to work with a high net worth consulting group and coordinated all trade activity and portfolio analysis for the group.
Mr. English earned his BBA in Marketing from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.

Vice President, Trust Administration
Ms. McMillian graduated from Texas A&M University with a BBA in Finance with an emphasis in Accounting. While attending Texas A&M, she worked part-time as a student assistant to the Chancellor of the Texas A&M University System. After completing an internship at Westwood Trust in the summer of 1999, Ms. McMillian joined Westwood Trust in December of 1999 as an Operations Specialist. Currently, she acts as Administrator for Westwood Trust client accounts and is a member of Westwood Trust’s Fee & Acceptance Committee, Trust Administrative Committee and the Trade Order Management Committee.

Assistant Vice President, Trust & Retirement
Ms. Gor began her career with Westwood in August of 2002, was promoted in 2004 to Associate, Marketing & Client Service and again in 2009 to Associate Vice President, Marketing & Client Service. With a primary support role on the Westwood Trust team, her responsibilities involve the development, maintenance and growth of client and prospective relationships, specifically among the Employee Benefit and Retirement plan clients. Additionally, Ms. Gor assists on special projects, presentations, and events. She is a member of the Retirement Benefits Committee and the Trust Administrative Committee.
Prior to joining Westwood, she held an internship at Fletcher Communications where she assisted in the development of marketing plans and managed client events.
Ms. Gor graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Marketing. While at Baylor, she was a member of the Business Excellence Scholarship Team and also served as Treasurer of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She earned the professional designation of Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) from the ABA Institute of Certified Bankers in 2008.
