The MLP Opportunities Composite includes all taxable and tax-exempt, fee-paying fully discretionary accounts whose main objective is to invest in securities of Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and other asset classes and securities whose characteristics are consistent with MLPs such as tankers, marine shipping companies and others. The MLP Opportunities portfolio consists of 25-35 securities managed to outperform the Alerian MLP Equal Weight Index. Portfolio returns reflect the reinvestment of dividend and interest income. The MLP Opportunities Composite is compared to the Alerian MLP Equal Weight Index. The Alerian MLP Equal Weight Index is an equal-weighted version of the leading benchmark of MLP equities, the Alerian MLP Index (AMZ). The Index, which has the same 50 constituents as the AMZ and rebalances them to a 2% weight each on a quarterly basis. The Alerian MLP Index is a composite of the 50 most prominent energy MLPs calculated by Standard & Poor’s using a float-adjusted market capitalization method. The index described above is an unmanaged market index. The comparative index returns include reinvestment of income but do not include transaction costs or management fees.
