The MLP and Strategic Energy Composite includes all taxable and tax-exempt, fee-paying fully discretionary accounts whose main objective is to invest in securities of Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and securities primarily involving energy-related activities. The MLP and Strategic Energy portfolio typically consists of 25-35 securities across market capitalizations of any size and managed to outperform the Alerian MLP Index. Portfolio returns reflect the reinvestment of dividend and interest income. The MLP and Strategic Energy Composite is compared to the Alerian MLP Index. The Alerian MLP Index is a composite of the 50 most prominent energy MLPs calculated by Standard & Poor’s using a float-adjusted market capitalization methodology. The index described above is an unmanaged market index. The comparative index returns include reinvestment of income but do not include transaction costs or management fees.
