Mr. Kovacs joined Westwood in 2024 as a Senior Equity Solutions Portfolio Manager for the Managed Investment Solutions team. The team is responsible for creating outcome-oriented, adaptable and transparent investment solutions designed to address a broad range of evolving client needs. He has extensive experience at the intersection of technology and investment solutions, with significant experience leveraging technology to enhance portfolio management capabilities. In this capacity, Mr. Kovacs leads the design of equity solutions technology projects aimed at creating and implementing outcome-oriented, adaptable and transparent investment solutions.
Mr. Kovacs has more than 20 years of investment experience at the intersection of technology and investment solutions, with significant experience leveraging innovative technology to enhance portfolio management capabilities. Previously, Mr. Kovacs served as head of investment technology strategy at Legal & General Investment Management America. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between investment and technology teams, leading to the successful execution of strategic and tactical projects. His contributions significantly enhanced operational efficiency and scalability.
Prior to his tenure at Legal & General, Mr. Kovacs made notable contributions at Northern Trust, where he played a key role in developing trading strategies and the equity portfolio management technology platform of the firm. Before that, he gained valuable experience at Susquehanna International Group and Barclays Global Investors. Mr. Kovacs began his career with Dow Jones Indexes, building and maintaining indexes that were part of the Dow Jones Global Index family.
Mr. Kovacs holds a BS in finance and economics from Boston College.
